In 2017 SDH entered into the OHL/Energy market with the maintenance schedule for Arqiva/Vodafone/National grid. With a nation-wide network of engineers dedicated to maintenance and emergency cover for the OHL fibre network comprising OPGW/Skywrap, SDH provide 24/7 365 days of the year cover for the location, fault find and fix of all fibre faults. From this we have developed a work book of planned operations for the repair and upgrading of the network.
workers on pylonWith a dedicated department, SDH have maintained SLAs, responding to and correcting numerous faults to keep the network working at its optimum level - an accolade which has been verified by our end clients. Each of the SDH fibre engineers are qualified climbers, authorized for Sub-station and OHL Person as a minimum, with many achieving Competent Person status on National Grid. BESC is a minimum requirement for working on National Grid sites and forms part of the engineers’ training.
Since inception as a fully-fledged department within SDH, we have successfully been awarded work after submitting competitive tenders against more established companies, such as AMEC and BABCOCK. SDH are looking to the future and expanding into all the major suppliers of OHL contracts.
We also have interests abroad and are currently negotiating with large overseas companies for access to overseas contracts. SDH have strengthened their position in the OHL sector, employing many highly experienced and qualified Project Managers and Fibre Engineers who bring a wealth of knowledge & experience gained over years within the industry.
